Paralog Performance Competition

GPS Based Performance Racing

Event Rules

In addition to individual ranking of flights, this site supports judging performance oriented wingsuit performance competitions as a multi-task event for the three combined categories time, distance and speed.

If you are interested in running an event, please see the PPC Judge's Guide for further details.

The rules for these events are based on the established FAI F3B class: A minimum of two rounds should be flown for a competition with each round consisting of one time, distance and speed task. Where feasible, all participants should perform a task on the same or adjacent loads to minimize wind influence. Both distance and speed rounds should be flown up- and downwind on the same or adjacent loads for the same reason. Any single round must be completed with the same suit without any changes or modifications of parts. Weigths must not be worn for individual tasks. Propulsion systems must not be used. In flight performance indicators must not be worn.

Tasks

The order of tasks and an additional training flight is at the discretion of the organiser. All flights for a certain round/task should be flown from the same or back-to-back load to minimize wind influence. We recommend to fly both distance and speed rounds close together using one upwind and one downwind run to cancel out wind influence.

Each task is judged like the individual competitions on this site in a 1000m (3300ft) window between 3000m (9850ft) and 2000m (6550ft) AGL.

Jump Run A crosswind jumprun 2 nm upwind of the DZ (for downwind runs) or 1nm downwind of the DZ (for upwind runs) is suggested to give every competitor a clean shot back to the DZ. Staggered openings further increase seperation.

For the time task, the time spend in the evaluation window will be recorded; the longer you stay in the competition window, the better.

For the distance task, the horizontal distance covered over ground while in the evaluation window will be recorded; the further you fly while in the competition window, the better.

For the speed task, the highest average horizontal speed over ground achieved while in the evaluation window will be recorded; the further you fly in the shortest time while in the competition window, the better.

The results of each single task in each single round will be normalized to the best result of this task in this round, i.e. the competitor performing best in a given task of a round receives a score of 100% with the other competitors receiving scores according to their relative performance. If a task is not flown it will be scored with 0 points.

End Result

The scores for the same task of all rounds will be averaged for each competitor and added up to calculate the overall ranking for this event for a maximum of 300 points. In case of a tie, the highest individual result breaks the tie.

Every flight uploaded for a competition will automatically be included in the overall ranking.
